XIM2/Halo3 Updates:

Been playing a lot of Halo 3 of late on the Xbox 360 with the XIM+WinXP Laptop+Panther XL USB ver3. I found out that by default the MX518 runs at 800 DPI and the XIM2 configs I was using were setup for the mouse to be running at 1800 DPI. Using the software for the Logitech MX518 I was able to set the defaults from 1800, 800, 400 to 1850, 1800, 1750 so the middle position that the mouse runs in without selecting the on the fly buttons is 1800. The on the fly DPI adjustment buttons do not get moved over to the PXL ver3 when the mod is done so the default 800 can't be changed via hardware. By using the software to change the default from 800 to 1800 solves the problem quite easily.

The feel of the MX510 ver3 Panther XL is quite nice in Halo 3, I don't care for the game much but I have never been a fan of the Halo series even when played on the PC.

Yeah, no big fan of Halo as well. BTW Steve, have you seen that mouse performance comparison site? It used some scientific measurement tests and determined that the MX500 is the best mouse in terms of acceleration. MX518 came next, just as basically all the other laser mice. So all this "laser ownz" hype was just false advertising as I already suspected ;)
